Mr. Sumner has active attorney licensing in Pennsylvania, Georgia, South Carolina, Arizona, Ohio, Maryland and Arkansas. He is also admitted before the United States Supreme Court, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Southern District of Ohio. Mr. Sumner has published extensively on medical malpractice topics. He has held editorial positions for distinguished legal and/or litigation journals to include serving as a Contributing Editor for "Medical Malpractice Law and Strategy". Mr. Sumner has been invited to speak on "The Investigation of the Obstetrical Malpractice Case" before the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants. Mr. Sumner also concentrates his practice in the area of the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA). Of special interest to attorney Sumner are cases involving negligent medical care and treatment provided at military or Veterans Administration hospitals or clinics. Mr. Sumner previously served as Special Counsel, Torts Branch, Civil Division, U.S. Department of Justice. He is currently a member of the prestigious Million Dollar Advocates Forum and is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.
